At the heart of Sidney Garber is a charitable mission.
Brooke Garber, the owner and creative director of Sidney Garber, decided in 2013 to give away her profits to causes she was passionate about. This came as a surprise to her accountant, who called and explained to her that, actually, there were no profits.
Soon enough, there were. And today, Brooke donates well into six figures annually to a variety of not-for-profit organizations dedicated to children’s mental health, the arts, women’s reproductive rights, and ending gun violence.
Brooke Garber is the co-founder of The Child Mind Institute, a trustee of the Whitney Museum of American Art, and a board member of Lincoln Center Theater. In May of 2024, Brooke was honored by the Whitney for her decades of work to diversify the museum's collection and exhibition program.
